1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?
After my retirement, I started in 2006 offering sightseeing tours to individuals from English speaking countries.
2. What is your company's mission?
My mission is to show my guests my beautiful country and to tell them everything about the secrets of living below sea level.
3. What does your company specialize in?
I specialize in 8 hour sightseeing tours with private demonstrations at local markets and factories. Customizing itineraries to the guests preferences is one of my main services.
4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?
My name is Raymond Vandenburg (1947).
I live close to the airport Schiphol in a suburb of Amsterdam.
I started my company Private Holland Tours with the aim to show foreigners the beauty and variety of my country.
Because of my job (started as a newspaper reporter and ended as an editor in chief) I've worked with many people and travelled a lot throughout Holland.
I designed and built my own website Private Holland Tours to attract individuals, couples and families from mainly USA and Canada to my Holland and Belgium itineraries and self-made videos.
5. What is your most popular travel package and why?
My 'Zaanse Schans and Marken Private Tour' is decidedly a favorite #1 among my guests.
This wonderful tour covers the magnificent area of Dutch polder landscape north of Amsterdam, marked by windmills, lakes, dikes and ditches.
Visits at quaint historic fishing villages with remarkable wooden cottages.
Most of the driving is on small scenic country roads, where tour busses are not allowed. The area is called 'Waterland' and is situated 8-12 feet below sealevel.

... view more all of the sights we experienced in our short stay. We got to see all of the things we wanted to see; windmills, wooden shoes, and the city itself. We have never seen so many bicycles in our life.
We especially enjoyed the Alsmeer Flower auction and the countryside. My daughter and husband especially enjoyed the museums and just walking around the city.
