M16979 is a specialized tour operator. Tours are led by Knut Eisermann and Claudia Avendaño, authors of the Annotated Checklist of the Birds of Guatemala (Lynx Edicions, 2007). We are active ornithologists and conservationists, who have been conducting intensive field research in Guatemala since 1996. M16979 supports the development of birding in Guatemala by organising Christmas Bird Counts, consulting local tourism programs, and teaching local birding guides.
