The trekking organization was created in 1990 by Pasang Sherpa, who, as a boy, was already active in trekking, Lakpa Doma, the first Nepalese woman to climb a seven thousander, Jangbu Sherpa, who helped Pieter Matthiesen in his search for the snow leopard, and Roger De Groen, a Belgian, vice-president of the Belgium Nepal Friendship Association, active for more than 20 years in organizing group travel to Nepal and Tibet.
