M17851 was founded in 2003 by Teachers wanting to offer a better learning experience for students. They wanted students to be able to go to a place and really have to use the English they were learning in class in the "real" world with Canadians as well as to be able to enjoy the many activities and adventures that BC has to offer. All of the teachers have experience both in Canada and abroad in countries such as Japan, Korea, China, Mexico, Argentina and Brazil. Also, many of the staff members are experts in other fields such as Scuba diving (members of both SDI and PADI), sailing, canoing, kayaking and boating.
