M17955 is the longest operating hot air balloon company in Queensland, having flown over the Gold Coast for 25 years. Family owned and operated by the Parkes family for all that time they enjoy a 100 per cent safety record. Passenger comfort, safety and enjoyment are their primary considerations. M17955 operates as a commercial hot air ballooning business under an Air Operators Certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority. Our pilots are highly qualified, CASA certified commercial balloon pilots, experienced at guiding the balloon on the early morning air currents experienced on the Gold Coast and pointing out all the area landmarks.
M17955 flies over the Gold Coast every morning at sunrise, weather permitting. Complimentary transfers for Gold Coast visitors staying from Sanctuary Cove to Coolangatta are available, including return to the theme parks or other location if required. Locals are met at the 5 star Palm Meadows Golf Resort, Gooding Drive, Carrara.
Tony Parkes is the Owner and Chief Pilot of M17955. Tony first got involved in ballooning over 20 years ago following his first flight in a hot air balloon. Upon completion of pilot training he qualified as a balloon pilot in 1997. Tony has competed in numerous ballooning championships and balloon festivals. Included in these have been the Australian Balloon Championships and the World Championships held in Australia in 2004 (as balloon crew). He has been involved in the administration of sport ballooning, occupying a number of roles in the Balloon Association of Victoria, including as President. |
