The M17967 is an owner operated business and we have been owned it for sixteen years, we work with a network of farmers to provide unique tours where guests can meet and stay with high country farmers in their homes and enjoy their hospitality along with the chance to see New Zealand's largest cattle station.
Our tours through Molesworth are passive adventure appealing to mainly the 50 plus age group, although we are promoting mountain biking tours through the station and believe they will have appeal to a broader age range. Up until now our customers have been 90% domestic market and less than 10% international, but we believe international visitors would also really enjoy what we have to offer once they know about us.
Our aim is to give guests a quality and unique tour to New Zealand’s largest cattle station, 180,000 hectares, including an experience with local farmers; and to have people feel at home with country hospitality. Our most popular tour has become the Three Day Experience Tour where customers get to meet the locals of the Awatere Valley on their high country station properties. Guests are always made to feel very welcome and there is a chance to be included in whatever on farm activity might be happening on the day. Guests are looked after very well with great food and local wine, a farm style breakfast and nice accommodation staying with the farmers in their home stead.
Quality is a very important part of our business philosophy and keeping this in mind we have put together an interesting combination of information, local knowledge, personalities, great food and local produce to make our tours unique and a memorable experience for our guests.
We travel in 4WD mini coaches and give a full commentary on the history, farming practices, geology, flora and fauna. All guests receive tour notes and maps as a keep sake of their tour. The standard tour range is a choice of one, two, three or four day tour options, mountain biking adventures of five days, a Molesworth and Kaikoura Whale Watch tour. We also offer wine trails within Marlborough, and have a golfing tour incorporating Nelson, Marlborough, Kaikoura and Hanmer Springs courses. For keen fishermen we have a high country helicopter fishing tour. We are a Qualmark endorsed visitor activity, members of the Bus and Coach Assn and the Tourism Industry Assn of NZ. |
