Beginning in the yacht charter industry in the early '90's, I began to realize what a wonderful vacation opportunity this is. I have sailed these waters as charter yacht owner and crew for more than 10 years. You are able to get up close and "in your face" with the beauty of land and sea here in this fabulous destination of Paradise. The famous Trade winds blow all year long, the skies and water are crystal clear with the occasional passing shower to cool you and supplement the lovely cloud patterns in the sky.
The question occurred to me: Why would anyone want to fly to a Resort (well, I guess it's ok for some) and spend time in one place when you can virtually have the "Resort" move you from cove, to beach, to bar, to another island every day and see it all! The vacation plan is totally up to you. You will not lift a finger to do anything if you wish, or you can sail/drive the boat (under the watchful eye of the Skipper of course!). And when you're finished, sit on deck, watch the sunset over the brand new island you have just discovered with a tropical cocktail in hand!
Jump over the side, or ease in from the swim platform to snorkel in the famous waters of the Virgin Islands. You will stop trying to name the colors you will see. Some of them haven't been discovered yet! If it's party you want, it's Party You Get! This area is renowned for Full Moon parties, Carnivals, Springtime Festivals, Boating Regattas and New Years celebrations to end them all. Jost Van Dyke is host to the largest "Old Year's Night" in the Caribbean at Foxy's place.
