M18178 provides specialized walking and hiking tours with carefully crafted itineraries unique to us. All tours are fully escorted and include transport by private vehicle, all accommodation in a variety of comfortable and charming hotels, country pubs or guest houses. All breakfasts and packed lunches are included and on certain tours, evening meals as well. A unique aspect of a M18178' trip is that we visit up to three different regions in a single tour giving a breadth of hiking experience in the best scenery in England, Scotland and Wales.

The company was founded by Pete and Karen Royall. Both have extensive experience within the travel industry and Pete was a guide escorting trekking groups in the Himalaya, Karakoram and Andes mountains for 10 years prior to setting up M18178.

The Roman history themed Edge of Empire tour is our most popular escorted tour because it has everything from exploration of two of the most charming cities in England to the walk along Hadrian's Wall and hikes in the peerless scenery of the Lake District.
