Located amongst the spectacular beauty of the Laurentians, the 71 luxury mountain homes at M18461 are a blend of some of Canada’s best ecological practices. Each log home is located on a minimum, one-acre plot and all are free from pesticide and fertilizer use. All are also situated near or on the Boule River or Lac Supérieur which has a non–motorized boat policy to protect the integrity of the lake. “I'm proud to say that you won’t see grassy lawns at the water’s edge along our lake. The shoreline is natural,” says developer Michel Beaulieu. “We respect the concept of conscientious living and have a serious commitment towards the philosophy of leaving a small footprint.”
M18461 log homes are not built from living trees but from dead standing timber. These logs, mostly ancient BC timber involved in forest fires, are trimmed so that only the core of the log is used in construction. Since the timber has had time to dry in the forest, the wood experiences minimal shrinkage when used in the log home-building process. Any trees cut to make way for the roads on the property are recycled. “Here we want to do something as a compliment to Mont-Tremblant and still remain in tune with Mother Nature,” says Michel. "We chose to build a resort that was harmonious and intelligent at the same time."
