M18536 was founded in Cape Town, South Africa. It is one of the most scenic training grounds for local and international cyclists, offering fabulous weather conditions during the winter months in Europe. We often see international and local professional teams training on some of our tour routes. The concept was created by our tour leader after many years of cycling the "Cape Argus race" and following the routes of the "Giro del Capo" professional race. And of course M18536 extensive search for new and exciting coastal and mountain pass routes, which are all documented with "GPS" route coordinates.
Whether you are a amateur or professional cyclist we can cater for your personal needs. Together with the Sports Institute at Stellenbosch University we can ascertain your athletic ability and through aerobic tests we can produce a suitable training plan for you. We can offer you the expertise of the best cycle shops in town and through our close relationship to the "Cape Argus race" we are always up to date with local cycling news and race events. During our M18536 Cycle Tours holidays and day tours we offer you the opportunity to try out clinically tested sports drinks and foods. Why not join in on our enthusiasm for some of the best road and mountainbiking in the world.
- Our M18536 Team
Our M18536 tour leader and founder Charles Cox was born in Johannesburg, South Africa. He has traveled extensively around the world experiencing many different cultures. His appreciation of good restaurants and soulful spots has given him the ideal background for planning the concept of your holiday. He has worked as a sportswear designer in Italy, Germany, and Hong Kong, and has created a concept for an active cycle holiday in his home country South Africa, combining sport with leisure. His location choice, Cape Town, being the most cosmopolitan city of the Western Cape.
His experience of cycling ranging from road racing on the dusty mountain passes of Italy to amateur race meetings in Germany, not forgetting the fun of mountain biking in the forest regions of Hong Kong island, or even his favorite 10km single track downhill in the 'Lebanon trails' in Grabouw, Western Cape back home.
With many years of experience on Safari in South Africa and Namibia, Cedric is a valued member of our team. He makes sure that we get to all our destinations safely, with a lot of fun along the way. He also explains the fynbos and wildlife indigenous to South Africa, in a laid back but professional manor. He can enjoy a sundowner cocktail after the work has been done, telling one of his many safari stories. The perfect man to take a trip up north with to a game park in Namibia or along the Route 62 on the Garden Route.
M18536 tour leaders are qualified and registered Theta guides, enthusiastic specialists dedicated to enhance any guest’s visit to South Africa through informative discourse and personal attention.
