1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?
M18617 is officially opened since 2006. And it started from the founder being 100% convinced that most visitors see only a small fraction of Brazil has to offer.
2. What is your company's mission?
Our mission is to provide experience to every traveller, not only sitting on a bus or a car and driving from one attraction to the other, but to walk, feel, taste, smell, make contacts, dance, and get to know more of the local culture.
3. What does your company specialize in?
In experience tourism, tailor-made private services according to the interest of the visitor.
Our clients are not tourists but travellers willing to discover more that the standard tours offered by other companies.
We're a social responsible company committed in working tight with the local community. By then we support local social projects, our guides are local and we strive to use locally owned hotels and restaurants in our packages. In some of our tours we use public transportation in order to have more contact with local population and also diminish the CO2 emissions by using private cars or vans. Most of our transportations uses less polluent fuels such as natural gas, ethanol or bio diesel.
4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?
The founder has worked many years as local guide in Rio de Janeiro and Tour leader throughout Brazil and Latin America. As being a local, born and bred in Rio he seeks continously new programms and tours in order to show the real essence of the brazilian culture to his clients.
5. What is your most popular travel package and why?
Rio de Janeiro nightlife tours, walking tour and hiking in a favela, historical walking tour in the city center, Background of carnival Tour- because those tours emphasises the lots of background information and contact with the real soul of Rio.
6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?
Our best comments is from family after visiting a favela and social project they had the day of their lives and changed they way saw Brazil.
