M18643 was founded in 2007.

Our goal is to deliver the best value for money experience on the Bay of Plenty and we are confident that we have the knowledge, equipment, commitment and skills to bring both the novice and expert into contact with some of the best fishing and diving New Zealand has to offer.

3. What does your company specialize in?

You can rely on our personalised service on day trips, overnight trips, as well as extended live-aboard charters, where we cater for both novice and experienced anglers, dive enthusiasts, and sightseeing groups.

4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?

M18643, owned and operated by Gisela and Mike, is based in Tauranga – gateway to the rich waters of New Zealand’s Bay of Plenty. Mike, a civil engineer, (whose game fishing and seafaring exploits over the years has taken him from the Eastern Atlantic, to the Indian Ocean, the Pacific and the Caribbean) retired from professional life some years ago to pursue his passion for deep sea fishing and diving while enjoying first hand, the spectacular beauty that New Zealand and its marine life have to offer.

5. What is your most popular travel package and why?

If you are serious about big game fishing, then we recommend a 4 to 5 day game fishing safari to give you and your companions quality time amongst the big fish (while saving you money on your land based accommodation).

6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?

What a ripper day! First fish ever caught for one of us. A skipper who knows his stuff. Enough snapper, tuna, john dory + kahawai to feed 5 families! Not only that the weather was outstanding. Thanks Mike + Gisela for an absolutely awesome day. Makes you happy to be alive!

I am still grinning from ear to ear with landing a Kingfish on softbait gear, a huge amount of fun. Your attention to detail, including fitting of gimble belts for those of us in need, and the wide selection of food that you had available was appreciated. Personal highlights included the sighting of three marlin, which unfortunately eluded us on this occasion, but great to see them in the Bay of Plenty waters.
