Explore and enjoy the pristine waters of the Rakaia River with a relaxing fishing trip or thrilling jet boating adventure, just one hour from Christchurch in Canterbury, New Zealand.
Experience some of the South Island's best flyfishing on the Rakaia River. Choose from unguided salmon fishing or guided fly-fishing trips. Between October and April, choose brown and rainbow trout fishing. From mid January to May, enjoy Rakaia salmon fishing. Access to fishing can be by foot, 4WD, helicopter or jetboat. Jetboat along 32 km of the Rakaia River. Jet boating trips last 30 minutes, but customised trips are possible. Each trip caters for up to 10 people (group concessions available).
