Our company is an association formed under the 1901 French law which offers thematic workshops (cultural, culinary, wine, arts and crafts, music and dance) throughout the world. Our objective is to promote the practice of traditional activities in the country or region from which they originate, thus allowing a total cultural immersion. The president and founder of the association is Soizick Chartier, cultural anthropologist.

1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?

M19027 was created in September 2005 by 3 friends (2 French, 1 Scottish). Being aware that when we travel we do not always manage to get to know the people in the countries we visit, we had the idea of the workshops in order to give travellers the possibility to live with the local population. It represents a doorway into a way of life which is almost inaccessible when one is a simple tourist.

2. What is your company's mission?

M19027 offers the opportunity to experience traditional culture and activities in the region where you will be based, thus allowing a total cultural immersion.

3. What does your company specialize in?

Since 2009, we offers a volunteer language and cultural exchange program which is a huge success between English speakers and French families.

4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?

Soizick Chartier is the founder of the association and is managing it now. Graduated from the School of the Louvre and from the University of La Sorbonne in Social sciences, I worked with various NGO's and a language school in Montpelier where I was in charge of the international students before I created the M19027.

5. What is your most popular travel package and why?

The flamenco dance in Seville is the most popular workshop among French participants and the volunteer programme "Live with and teach English to a family in France" is the most popular program among English speakers.
