M19118 is a family run tour operator based in South Africa. We specialize in creating and leading superb natural history safaris which focus specifically on birds or wildlife in general, depending on the clients’ interests. Founded in 1990, M19118 was the very first specialized birding safari company in South Africa. Today, our experienced planners and group leaders will ensure that your expectations are not only met but exceeded, as we get your clients to the finest bird and mammal hotspots in southern and eastern Africa. We do not run any hunting safaris and are not involved with hunting in any way.
You’ll want to return to Africa with us time and time again!

We once again would like to say how much we appreciated your excellent guiding and companionship during our trip, which has made for a memorable time in South Africa. We'll be talking about the holiday for months, if not years; Jean and Chris Parrott, UK.
Both guides were really first class. Very knowledgeable, easy to get on with and they both "gelled" with some very old and grumpy ex-soldiers. M19118 are highly recommended as a guiding company; Ian Nason, of the Army Ornithological Society, England.
Thanks to Nic and Kim's help, we saw 333 species of birds, many mammals and reptiles, and a lot of very beautiful scenery and plant life. I liked the pacing of the trip and feel that I saw a great amount of wildlife in a short time; John Sherwood, USA.
I can recommend M19118 without reservation. We traveled with them in 2009 on a custom birding, wildlife and photo safari to Mpumalunga (Dullstroom, Blyde River Canyon, Kruger NP and Sabi Sand reserve.) They worked closely with us to plan a customized itinerary and all of their suggestions were right-on. Everything was extremely well-organized and we benefited from their long-time experience in this area. Our guide, Leon Marais, was fantastic - an excellent wildlife spotter and birder, and importantly for us, an excellent photographer as well, so he really understood our needs and desires. Leon worked tirelessly every day to make the most of our experience. We are now eagerly anticipating our 2nd custom trip with M19118 to the Western Cape and the Kalahari. Janet Zinn and Alan Baratz; USA.
