M19202 is a tourism institution in charge of with the coordination, promotion and development of quality tourism services in Fako Division, South West Region of Cameroon. M19202 was created in 1967 as a tourism institution to enliven and valorize tourism both at the local and national levels.
Since its creation, the M19202 is the only existing “Tourism Office” or “Tourism Information Center” in Fako Division that coordinates, promotes and develops tourism initiatives in the region and beyond. The M19202 Office has been offering numerous services to its clients or visitors with little support from the local Councils in Fako Division.
Below are some of the services the M19202 Office can offer to visitors:
- Selling or providing transport for visitors through; facilitating the hiring of vehicles, reserving places in public transport, and the transportation of their luggages to other destinations (either to or from the airport) in the country;
- Reserving or renting rooms in lodging establishments in the region;
- Reserving meals in restaurants;
- Organizing cruises, excursions or journeys for individuals or group of tourists, either guided or not in towns, regions or tourist sites, monuments and museums etc;
- Providing information on travel, transport and living conditions in the South West Region in particular and Cameroon in general;
- Helping travelers to deal with accredited tourism related institutions to carry out monetary exchanges or other services in compliance to the law in force;
- Liaise visitors to institutions that offer cars or bus rental services with drivers;
- Recruit and employs temporal or full time professional tourist guides in various tour services in the region;
- Represents the tourism interest, interests of actors or associations in the industry in sister-city partnerships or missions with other tourism institutions;
- Have designed and presently engaged in tour operations to the various potentials and destinations in the region;
- Educates and raise awareness on tourism issues in the region in collaboration with institutions of learning;
- Network and create partnerships with other tourism actors based on mutual respect and understanding to fully involve and update them on tourism situation in Fako.
