M19892 is a niche market agency and custom design tour service that specializes in small group touring on interesting itineraries to destinations in the UK and Europe. Small groups accommodate from just 6 - 15 guests so you are able to get more in depth, discovering local treasures those ‘herded’ on big bus tours miss. All of our itineraries offer a mix of seeing the iconic sites and meeting the locals, off the beaten track. We feel it is important to go exploring via the ‘b’ roads since it is the best way to really get the full flavor of the places you are visiting.

Choose from a wide selection of scheduled theme and general sightseeing tours and custom designed itineraries. We can assist you with a vacation on any theme of your choice; popular themes include genealogy, gardens, literary, culinary and wine, spiritual exploration, castles & history, mystical/Celtic, quilting, rock & roll, trains and planes, World War battlefields & England’s Homefront.

Our scheduled tour product is designed to be as inclusive as possible for value’s sake, including accommodation, entrance fees and most dinners. Tours are flexible in nature so you can enjoy your independence without the hassles of driving yourself and rest assured that your needs are cared for as you are in the company of your local guide/companion. On a custom designed itinerary, your tour package inclusions are flexible to suit your individual needs and budget.

With M19892, you will have the advantage of expert advice from those who have not only visited, but have years of experience living in and loving the cultures you will visit in the UK and Europe. We have worked with the local suppliers, guide/companions and also as a tour guide in the UK. We hand pick our ground suppliers with your comfort and expectations in mind.

M19892 is a member of several trade associations including NTA, OSSN and the Specialty Travel Agent Association. Kate Carrigan, the owner/operator of M19892, has been in the tourism industry since 1992 and has been a specialist in tours to Britain since 2000. M19892 also provides support on ad-hoc marketing projects for organizations within the trade.
Questions and Answers
We strive to give our guests a nice balance, the benefits of traveling with a local guide, showing them sites that they may not find on their own.

1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?

Kate Carrigan, owner/operator of M19892, was a long serving Tour Operations Manager for a local ground operator in London, UK. This position allowed her to learn every aspect of the tourism industry. It was during her years here that she developed deep roots and love of the local communities. Family and an expired visa brought Kate back home to East Coast USA in 2003 and she started M19892 to make it possible to continue sharing the delights of the UK and Europe with visitors.

2. What is your company's mission?

M19892 is dedicated to giving you the holiday of a lifetime. Traveling in small groups and on interesting itineraries throughout the United Kingdom and Europe, you will be taken behind the tourist facade. Meet the locals, seeing both the famous sites (after the crowds have left) and the hidden gems that those herded on big buses miss. Live the history of the areas you visit, sample life in small villages and have experiences not open to larger groups, in the company of your multi talented driver/guide/companion.

3. What does your company specialize in?

M19892 serves independent minded folks who don’t want the hassles of driving themselves in the UK With small groups, up to just 14 guests per scheduled departure, we have flexibility to get off the beaten track.

4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?

Philadelphia PA born and raised, Kate Carrigan has been traveling since she was 17 years old thanks to a student exchange program which took her to Germany, Spain and France for the summer. She was irreversibly bitten by the travel bug. Following much wandering, working and studying, Kate settled down in London where she took the position of Tour Operations Manager for a local ground operator. This position allowed her to learn every aspect of the tourism industry. It was during her years here that she developed deep roots and love of the local communities. Family (and an expired visa) brought Kate back home to East Coast USA in 2003 and she started M19892 to make it possible to continue sharing the delights of the UK & Europe with visitors. After over twenty years and adventures on six continents, Kate is dedicated to sharing her experience and passion for quality travel with her clients. It is a privilege for M19892 to be a part of your treasured holiday memories.

5. What is your most popular travel package and why?

Jane Austen is continually popular. Perhaps in part to the recent film versions of her works but I think it is mainly because the theme is classic in nature. Our Jane Austen tour is about discovering quaint country villages, visiting regal stately homes, strolling beautiful gardens, meandering antique shops and enjoying sumptuous meals. Of course you see sites where Jane lived, visited and was inspired but the tour presents much more. There are many literary festivals across the UK and Ireland that we can incorporate into an itinerary around Jane Austen, Dylan Thomas, James Joyce and Charles Dickens for custom departures. In response to guest request, we have a brand new scheduled tour - English Literary Festivals, featuring the Torquay Agatha Christie festival and the Bath Jane Austen festival in Sep, 2012.

6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?

"Dear Kate, it's hard to believe that six months have passed since our wonderful trip to England. The happy faces in the photo sum up what we all felt about the entire trip and its culmination at the Chelsea Flower Show. We spent a lot of time reliving our journey and wishing we could go and do it all again tomorrow. Thank you so much for everything. Of course we realize that two elements that made the trip so memorable were non-replicable and sheer luck-the small size of our group and the impeccable weather. However, all those aspects that were planned and under control went without a hitch: the hotels, the food, the gardens, the transportation and coordination. And our guide's knowledge, leadership and companionship were the icing on the cake. And that is something you won't find just anywhere, rest assured that we'll be conspiring to come back again for another itinerary-perhaps ten different gardens!" Jane, 2010 Chelsea Flower Show tour
