I wanted to travel around Luxor and its amazing sight on my own but after advice from friends I decided to book a guide. I was apprehensive and sceptical about ... view more booking a guide as I thought it really wasn’t necessary and it would just be an added expense, plus I’m very independent and like to travel and explore on my own. Out of all the guides I reviewed I was very lucky and ended up booking Ahmed. I would advise any girl travelling on her own to book a guide as the hassle I got when I was on my own was unbearable but when I was with Ahmed there was no problem. There were numerous benefits to booking a guide, but being able to travel around hassle free made it really worthwhile. Plus, I found having Ahmed made visiting the sight so much more interesting and enjoyable. I know I would never have learnt as much travelling around the sight trying to read and learn about them from a book.

I found Ahmed very professional but with an easy going attitude. He is passionate about his job and you can tell he love what he does. He was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble. He even organised my hotel transfer to and from Cairo airport and a guide for my time in Cairo. His English is excellent and he gives you enough information and history to make it interesting but not boring and he has a good sense of humour which always helps.
I would highly recommend Egypt as a holiday destination and I was there during the elections and the day Mubarak was sentenced and it was fine. I always felt safe.

If you need a guide while you’re there I can’t recommend Ahmed highly enough!! If I could rate him I would definitely give him and his service 5*. It was a pleasure to meet him and he really made my stay in Luxor so much more enjoyable as did his driver Abdul. I was sad when my time in Luxor came to an end and I had to say goodbye, but Inshallah, we will meet again...
