Fano Andrianirina, your local tour guide in Madagascar, fluent in English, German, French and Malagasy. I can tailor a customary tour to suits your personal requests at a reasonable price!
1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?
I was born in Antananarivo in 1971, graduated from the University of Antananarivo in Management and Economics. This skill allows me to be a good organizer in all aspects of my tours. Since 1996, I work as a Naturalist Tour Guide and responsible of Marketing for a big Travel company in Madagascar.
Then starting with 2002, I am working as a freelance guide for some Tour Companies based in the Malagasy capital. I have traveled extensively throughout my country and have seen the “must visit” sites. I am fascinated about the Nature and knowledgeable about the Malagasy culture.
2. What is your company's mission?
Madagascar is an unusual destination with much to see /to do. You will receive a one-on-one approach and you can be assured of a very personal service. I will deign an ideal Madagascar tour only for you. All those who have already traveled with me can witness that.
3. What does your company specialize in?
Madagascar is a large country with a great deal to see/ do. I will custom design for you a great tour which allows you to experience this country within the time and budget you have available to travel here. Again, I can tailor a touring experience for viewing wildlife, for honeymooners, for family and/or for new or experienced adventurers.
For birders in particular: I am myself a birder, and have seen already all the endemics of Madagascar and can organize trips which suit your pace and desires without being bothered by the fact of being a member of a larger group. I know the locations, the local guides, and the best means of finding the specialties that you seek!
4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?
My name is Fano. First child of a family of 7 children; I was always responsible to do the right things to give example to all my brothers and sisters. I am always the “problem solver”. After school, my first job was in a tour company and since then I am still working in the tourism field.
5. What is your most popular travel package and why?
Wildlife viewing and birdwatching: and that’s what I am specialized in.
6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?
A friend & I spent a week with 'Fano' as our guide traveling around central and southern Madagascar looking for birds, wildlife & culture. I have independently traveled in 120 countries & Fano turned out to be one of the very best guides-companions ever! He was fluent in Malagasy, German, French & his English was excellent!
He seemed to know everyone wherever we went, extremely knowledgeable about the customs & wildlife, with an excellent eye for spotting birds & small reptiles we missed. Moreover, and perhaps the most memorable part, was Fano's personality - always helpful, sensitive to our different personalities and, most importantly, always FUN!
He understood the subtleties of jokes and felt like a long-lasting friend after our one week. I can only give Fano the highest recommendation possible - as a human being, as a guide and as an expert on Madagascar flora & fauna. I would be happy to respond to anyone's further questions re my experience with Fano.
