1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?
M20960 has been operating for over 30 years. We are a family run business that has diversified over time but without losing that personal touch. Chris Jolly bought his first launch “Facilita” in 1980, as a natural progression from owning a sports shop that specialised in hunting and fishing equipment. The business grew very quickly and more launches were soon added to the fleet.
2. What is your company's mission?
M20960 ims to provide its guests with the ‘Ultimate Outdoor Experience.’ We strive to achieve this by having knowledgeable, friendly and professional staff across all of our business, from the first contact over the phone, till the end of the excursion. All roles are performed to the highest standard to ensure each guest has thoroughly enjoyed their activity.
3. What does your company specialize in?
M20960 specialises in creating outdoor experiences to suit the client’s needs and desires. From daily scenic cruises to private fishing charters, guided walks, hunting, fly fishing, guided bike tours and more. M20960 has the experience and the flexibility to create bespoke packages to suit each client.
4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?
Chris Jolly founded the company in 1980 when he purchased his first launch. Chris is an avid fisherman who has been fishing on Lake Taupo since childhood. A keen sportsman and an excellent hunter, Chris also guides clients on deer hunts on his exclusive hunting property in the Wairarapa. His knowledge of the outdoors and hunting and fishing is unsurpassed and clients travel from all over the world to stalk Red deer with him.
5. What is your most popular travel package and why?
Some activities increase with the change of season but private fishing charters are always popular. An activity that everyone can enjoy –from large corporate groups to small families – everyone can have a go at catching a trout while cruising around the picturesque bays of Lake Taupo. Catering can be arranged with a variety of menus to choose from. From a BBQ lunch to a 3 course dinner, our in-house chef can create a menu to suit your taste and budget. All boats are licensed with full bars on board. Skeet shooting is also available on board and on warm days a swim off the boat is a great way to cool off. Parties can dance the night away on board with karaoke for the brave.
6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?
Every week we receive great feedback from clients but the best compliment would have to be return business. Two clients have been coming to our hunting camp for 16 years straight and they live in Hawaii! Some years they come more than once and say that it’s their favourite holiday destination in the world! Other clients have returned annually for fishing trips for over 15 years!
