Nguyen Thanh Tam was the manager and chief guide for both Cycling Vietnam and Cycling Sulawesi. He has a B.A in English, fluent in both speaking and writing. He has 10 years of experiences of leading overseas tourists throughout Vietnam.
5. What is your most popular travel package and why?
We generally take people through the Mekong, the Central Highlands and the Central Coast because that's where the best cycling is. There are a few interesting places in North Vietnam but they are few and far between and there is a great deal of very busy highway connecting them. We recommend the 3-region sojourn if your choice is between that and North Vietnam. There is also a great deal of distance between the two so it's best if you choose one or the other.
The Mekong is rich in culture (the "rice bowl" of Vietnam) where you can cycle through watery rice fields and small islands where the people still live in bamboo houses. You'll see the floating markets and eat, drink and visit with the locals. We can take you to the Cambodian border where the Vietnamese and Cambodian cultures merge. It is a fascinating trip. In addition, it's not that far from there to the beauty of the Central Coast and Central Highlands, a comfortable drive in our air-conditioned van.
6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?
"We are back in Australia after having a great time in Vietnam. Thank you and the boys for giving us a wonderful time- we loved the flexibility of your tour but more importantly the company of your touring team. We will have fond memories of our time with "Tam the man" and his team for many years to come. We will certainly be recommending you to any of our friends who are considering a adventure tour through Vietnam."
