We hiredMimi for a one-day tour of Jerusalem. She was incredibly organized, contacting me beforehand to understand better what we wanted out of our guided tour. ... view more We have twelve-year old boy/girl twins and she really understood what would hold their interest and what would not, pacing the day so they never got worn out. She was also flexible, quickly altering our schedule to accommodate a visit to the Temple Mount. In a week of amazing sights, our kids' day in Jerusalem with Mimi remains one of the trip highlights. She really looked after us. She made calls on our behalf for hotels at the Dead Sea, even though we would not be there with her. In the restaurant where we stopped at for lunch Mimi made sure we get the best service. The other thing I really appreciated about Mimi was her integrity. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Dear Mimi,
It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I send you the following letter regarding our tour to Israel with you as our tour guide.. I have ... view more decided to break down my letter into a few categories that were relevant to our needs.
Pre-Trip Communication:
Your communication with us via e-mails were numerous and prompt. Whenever a booking deadline (i.e Palmach Museum ) approached where you needed an immediate answer, you always took the initiative to let us know the deadline urgency by e-mail, or you called us by phone to discuss it. We saw every site we asked to see due to your diligence to detail. You worked with our interests and created a comprehensive tour that filled our days in a coherent, fun and orderly way...
Reservations, mini tours, passes, and accommodations:
Their was not one exhibit that you were unable to arrange for us. Your connection to Yad Sarah enabled us to retain a wheelchair that proved to be indispensable for us to tour without. We have now made Yad Sarah one of our favored charities. The hotels you recommended were perfect for us. The prices were always reasonable, they were located in great areas, and everybody in our party was pleased by the service, cleanliness and hospitality of each…
Knowledge, flexibility, resourcefulness and helpfulness:
Your knowledge of the land Israel and it's history is formidable. You gave us fascinating and extensive lectures at all sights not only from the Jewish perspective but from ancient, Ottoman, Babylonian, Christian, Muslim, British and present political perspectives as well…
I would say that anybody who signed you up as a tour guide is lucky. As a family we feel we did a lot, saw a lot, were safe, and well taken care of. We look forward to seeing you on our next trip to Israel.

3  Sherry Cohen & Ann Armour Our trip to Israel 2008-11-01
Our trip in the Fall of 2005 to Israel was fabulous. We are two women, one of us is Jewish, lived in Israel briefly and speaks Hebrew, one of us was raised ... view more Catholic with a deep interest in Biblical history.

Our niece, whom we were visiting for more than two weeks and who has lived in Israel since 1996 interviewed potential tour guides. She choseMimi because of her personable and incredible knowledge of Israel and her understanding of two women traveling together. After a brief initial conversation with us,Mimi beautifully personalized the tour itinerary to meet our interests.

We could not have been luckier. Mimi is an amazing woman, historian and tour guide! She was a major part of making our experience in Israel so great. Altogether we spent three days with her, one in Jerusalem and two in the north, (Caesarea, Tiberias, Sefat, the Banias, Hula Valley and more). Her detailed knowledge of everything Israeli, the history, culture, geography, politics, flora and fauna, astronomy, religion was glorious. By the end of our travels with her, we felt like we were old friends, even though we only met the day before we toured.

We cannot say enough good things,Mimi is the best! We hope to return to Israel in the future and have a chance to tour again with her.

DearMimi,

I don't even know where to begin thanking you, complimenting you, enjoying you for your fine mind and organizational brilliance.

The result of your talents in action above has been a wonderfully intellectual, spiritual, geological, geographical, politically intense experience for me.

Digestion has begun.

I have so many questions, comments, thoughts, analysis, overview, underview of Israel itself, and the complexity of living here and living there.

After the Palmach Museum I understood that Israel, in general, is the world Jewry's "standing reserve Army"… so many thoughts about the complexity of the relationship of one Jewry to the other.

Anyway thank you, thank you, thank you for being so amazing.

I loved getting to know you a little.

5  Kathi Wachtenheim August Trip 2008-11-01
In August 2007, my husband Bill, our friends Adrienne and Wayne and their daughters age 13 and 11 and I spent the best time inIsrael thanks to Mimi. This was ... view more our 4th trip to Israel, the last 4 years ago, the 2nd trip for our friends but the first for their daughters.

Mimi was amazing. The first example of this: Before leaving on our trip I mentioned to Mimi that I could not contact elderly friends of my family who live on a Kibbutz. I e-mailed them to tell them of our desire to visit with them but their address had changed. I called but their phone number had changed. In less then 30 minutes I received an e-mail from Mimi telling me she contacted our friends and gave them my e-mail address, our phone number and gave me theirs. This was the beginning of making arrangements to visit with these dear people who are in poor health. Our delightful visit to the Kibbutz would not have taken place without Mimi going above and beyond to help us. For this I am most grateful.

Mimi has the energy of a 15 years old youngster and the determination and drive to show you Israel like no one else can. The challenge our "group" gave Mimi was to please adults as well as young people. She pulled this off without a problem.

Mimi has a wealth of information to share, speaking in clear, fluent English. She knows every nook and cranny of Israel; numerous people who can share their expertise and has the best sense of humor. She sings, tells stories and makes you feel so comfortable as though you have known her for years.

Without a doubt, our next trip to Israel will include Mimi. We know she will take us to more on and off the typical path of other guides; expose us to foods that are Israeli, Middle Eastern, Moroccan, whatever is desired-taste Sabras, Leeche nuts, experience the markets in preparation for Shabbat....the list goes on. We visited synagogues, churches and mosques and Mimi educated us about everyone.

Thank you Mimi.
