M05674 is a working cattle and horse ranch. We are located in the rolling hills of Southern Iowa, right in the middle of some of the best Whitetail deer hunting in the country. We have over 900 Acres of habitat available for clients to hunt on. The hunting areas are valleys and draws surrounded by corn, beans and hay fields.
The owner-operator is Rick Schlutz and family. Rick is a retired state conservation officer(game warden). He worked for the state of Iowa for 32 years in wildlife law enforcement. Therefore, we know about deer and deer hunting. Nice deer have been taken on the ranch in the past and we see nice deer nearly every day.
We also raise registered American Quarter horses. The horses are used on the ranch for work and pleasure. We specialize in ranch horses and roping horses. The cattle are Corriente. They are used primarily for sport (team roping, steer wrestling, team penning and ranch horse competitions).
