Cedar Knoll was founded in 1985 by Hayward & Dona Simmons. Hayward has been involved in deer management research with SCDNR, Clemson University, GDNR and the University of Georgia since 1986. He serves on the Clemson University Dept. of Forestry and Natural Resources Advisory Committee and on the SC Department of Tourism Thoroughbred Country Advisory Committee. Cedar Knoll has been featured in Deer & Deer Hunting as well as throughout the other popular media including Cabela's TV program on ESPN.
