M06323 was established in 1987, to cater for the special travel needs of farmers & others wanting to experience or learn about New Zealand country life. Since then visitors to New Zealand from many countries (Australia, UK, Ireland, USA, Canada, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, France, Switzerland, Germany, PNG, South Africa, Japan, Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Indonesia, China, South Africa, Finland, & Sweden) have used Farm to Farm Tours services. Farm to Farm Tours is based at Rangiora in the centre of a diverse farming district on the outskirts of Christchurch.
M06323 specializes in agricultural tours & country hospitality experiences. These Tours can be of a special interest or general nature, and technically or leisure oriented. Our main focus is organizing group travel to & from New Zealand for farmers and related groups. However, Free & Independent Travellers (F.I.T's) are also catered for.
Farm to Farm Tours organizes farm stays throughout New Zealand, mainly for touring farmers or student groups. Technical visits are also set up by M06323 for industry study groups, trade delegations & other visitors from abroad. Country functions such as dinner/dances in farm wool sheds, or in marquees in expansive country gardens, are also customized for conference or convention groups. Ground arrangements are also made for pre & post conference tour groups. M06323 has also been instrumental in organizing international conferences for agricultural or related groups. e.g. Farming Without Subsidies Conference 1995.
Ross Macmillan is the founding owner & principal of Farm to Farm Tours. He graduated with a B.Agr.Sc. Degree from Lincoln in 1970. He has worked as a farm consultant for the New Zealand Government agency for 10 years, and in private practice as a Registered Farm Management Consultant, for nearly 20 years. Most of the time he has been based in Canterbury, New Zealand, but also has worked abroad, in Scotland & on the Chatham Islands.
Ross has experience in a wide range of agricultural enterprises, including; sheep, dairy, beef, deer, arable crops, irrigation, forestry, fruit, wine grapes, tree crops, vegetable production & floriculture.
