We start our cruises 8 times a day on larger (20 & 25 pax.) family vessels and 12 passenger Zodiac’s. Upon arrival at Seaside Adventures and after check-in we all put on the exposure suits and head out on an exciting marine wild life excursion out into the Clayoquot Sound. (On our 25 passenger vessel exposure suits are not needed.) We will stop and visit the many Eagle’s, watch them building nests, tent to their young, fish and soar on the air currents above. From there we continue on our journey out to the traditional feeding grounds of the Gray whale. Always keeping an eye out for a pod of Orcas (black and whites) as they pass through on their hunt for food. Stops will be made to view seal and sealions colonies at their local haul-outs.

A very important part of every cruise is the bird wild life. One of our favorite area’s to do this is in the off shore bird sanctuary where 9 species of birds nest at different times throughout the seasons. Some of the species are Puffins, Gull’s Cormorant’s, Common Muir’s and many other types. In this region we see Grey Whales, Orcas, Humpback’s, Sperm whales and Minkies. Throughout these cruises there are harbor Porpoise, Sun-Fish, River Otter’s and Sea Otters. Our guilds take pride in sharing both history and relative native folklore throughout the entire cruise.

Start the day off with check-in at Seaside Adventures, then board one of our vessels for a half-hour boat ride from Tofino and travel 15 km’s north to the remote, aboriginal (First Nations) Village of Marktosis. The village is located in the northern portion of Clayoquot Sound on Flores Island, which is the largest island in the sound. From here we walk through part of the village to the start of the Wild Side trail. Our trail takes us through 11 km’s of pristine wilderness and spectacular Pacific Ocean beaches. The beach’s range from quiet serene coves to rugged surf pounded beaches. The trail is made up of hand hewn cedar boardwalk, which connects 8 beautiful white sandy beaches.

While on the Wildside trail we will be traveling by the summer feeding bays of the Grey Whale and a multitude of wild life and bird life, which lives in the old growth forest. Our naturalist guide’s are optional and take pride in sharing explanations of local flora and fauna. Also the guides are well-versed in areas that are rich with native history and folklore. For the more energetic hiker they can continue on an additional 4-km’s to the top of Mt. Flores, which has a height of 3,000 feet or 970 meters. The views from there are Breath- taking and second to none.

Climb aboard the "Pacific-Rim Whale Express” our 40 & 44 passenger luxury coach’s to see the sights of a lifetime… travel through Cathedral Grove, view the huge ancient trees towering over-head, enjoy the scenic road that leads to Tofino at the west coast of Vancouver Island. Once there embark on our vessels and view the giant Gray Whales feeding and frolicking in their natural habitat. A box lunch will be served on the cruise. Be on the lookout for pods of Orcas, which pass through the area on the hunt for prey. Visit colonies of sealions, seals and an open ocean bird sanctuary.

Upon your return to Tofino enjoy some free time before boarding our bus for a short trip to see the legendary "Long Beach" of the Pacific Rim National Park. Witness the miles of surf pounded sandy shores. On your return trip relax and enjoy the scenery and share in the excitement of the day.
