Jungle tours in the Amazon rainforest of Suriname. Jungle Survival Training courses. Complete packages in Suriname and the Guiana's. Marroon and Amerindian culture.
Experience the sensation of walking through uninhabited Amazon jungle with its beauty and enchantment. Experienced amer-indian guides take you into the depths of the equatorial rainforest.
Continuously alert in our movements.
Trees with straight stems rising to heights of over 30 metres.
The perpetual sounds of the jungle:
A group of saguwenkes, red-handed tamarin, in the tree tops.
The warning sound of the buskaka, Daptrius americana.
The enchanting tunes of numerous birds.
The hasty rustling of leaves.
The mysterious howling of the red howler monkeys in the distance.
When night falls in the sounds suddenly change as if in an instant, the nocturnal animals take over. We can take a night walk into the jungle, where the eyes of the animals are reflected in the beams of our flash-lights. After that we can sit round the campfire and enjoy the atmosphere, the sounds, the awareness of being surrounded by the vastness of the jungle. Finally we can enjoy our well deserved rest in our hammocks.
If you want to see animals in the jungle, a long trip on the river is a must. The native indian dugout is excellent for this purpose. Silently you slide by the banks of the river, where the heavy foliage hides a great variety of inhabitants:
A group of monkeys coming down for a replenishing drink:
A pair of red howler monkeys sitting save and sound, high in a tree-top.
A snake swimming across.
A giant aboma (anaconda) resting on the shore or swimming majestically by the river-bank.
A sloth slowly climbing up on a vine.
A great variety of birds flying over:
A group of macaws flying loudly over.
Paraquites, or parrots flying over in busy chatter.
Eagles, including the majestic Harpy-eagle.
Kuyake, toucans, with their long brightly colored bills.
Granman Tingifowru, the Kingvulture, with the brightly colored appendages on its head. |
