Great Wildlife:
We are the only provider for Peru's Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo Reserve, shown to have the Amazon's greatest diversity of mammals as well as the greatest diversity of primates of any protected park or reserve in the world. Over 500 species of birds have been found near the lodge; bird list available upon request. Scientists working in the reserve have recently found many new species of frogs and butterflies. A large population of pink dolphins is near to the lodge (author Sy Montgomery wrote much of her book "Journey of the Pink Dolphins" from our lodge.
Great Facilities:
We boast the longest canopy zipline in the Amazon. Why walk through the canopy when you can virtually fly from tree to tree (like Sean Connery in the movie Medicine Man). There are several treetop platforms as well. The lodge has been honored for its adherence to the "highest standards" by the Dept. of Industry and Tourism (only 2 other jungle lodges in Peru's Amazon so honored). Other facilities include native canoes, motorboats, a conservation laboratory, etc.
Great staff:
We have sufficient staff to allow for personal attention and even customized itineraries with private guide (no extra charge) if you desire. One of our guides, Gerineldo Moises Chavez, has had many books and magazine articles written about him and was recently acclaimed as "the most famous jungle guide in the Amazon" in a TV documentary titled: the Teachings of Gerineldo Moises Chavez (video copies available).
Great Itinerary choices:
We have over 45 day trips from the lodge that you can choose from. This is the greatest range of itinerary choices in the Amazon. For adventurous travelers, we have a camping or jungle survival training option, taking place in the interior of the reserve, an old-growth, undisturbed forest. This is the most pristine Amazon wilderness that you can find on any Amazon tour.
