It was founded in 1984 by Sanjiv Saran, a veteran of the Indian Tourism Industry who has traveled overland and trekked in most parts of India and Nepal. The company began operations in New Delhi with a strong, enthusiastic and imaginative team of trip managers. Over the years, this team has grown. Today, the company operates trips for several thousand visitors from all over the world. Other companies in also operate trips to Africa, Thailand,Vietnam, Tibet, Mongolia, China and Indonesia.
Our Trip Managers: Within India, Nepal and Bhutan, every group trip is set-up and escorted by a Trip Manager from the head office in India. High Points is directly responsible for all ground arrangements. Our Trip Managers are college graduates, speak English, and are fun to be with. They are fond of the areas they travel, know them well and are extremely considerate of local sensitivities. They strive to make each trip a memorable experience of India, not just a study of its ancient art or architecture. The trip managers may also be requested to escort private trips.
Our Customers: our company caters to tourists from America, all the European countries, Japan and Australia. Approximately 50% of our customers enjoy the classic “sight-seeing” trips. Others take a mix of adventure and soft-adventure trips, from Himalayan treks and full-scale climbing expeditions to deluxe Air-Safaris by private aircraft. Clients range from the Spanish Army to Hollywood celebrities like Oliver Stone. The company has also catered for outdoor location shooting in the Himalayas for an Indian television serial. All clients avail an extensive infrastructure geared for personalized yet immediate response, even in remote areas. For this reason, High Points has also been entrusted by international travel insurance companies to provide emergency medical assistance and evacuation services to their clients. |
