I participated in a tour called La Rioja in Spain.I got all the information I needed by e-mailing Mr. Simon Proffitt. The whole organization of the tour was ... view more very good. I got my maps and the manual booklet full of very good and exact instructions before head, delivered by mail, so I had time to prepare
myself. From the moment I landed I was taken care of very well. The tour was interesting, sometime phisically hard but every day there was something beautiful to see. The motels were clean, comfortable, romantic, and were
part of the culture we visited. In case of a problem on the way we could contact Mr. Proffitt on the sellolar phone and he came to help. I was very satisfied with the service I got and I think of doing a simillar tour next year.

This was a mix of five Americans (four in my party) and about 18 from England. It was a great bunch of people and everyone got along extremely well. The tour ... view more is in a very beautiful, sometimes remote area of northern Spain. The trip was well thought out, and Simon did a great job providing support. He drove the Van, there was no accompanying rider(s) which was fine since everyone on the trip was fairly independent. Some of the hills were a little more than "rolling" with about 3 major climbs throughout the 8 day trip. A certain level of fitness is required for this trip. Simon Proffitt is knowledgable and accomodating. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone.

We found the pace of the trip, the itnierary, the accommmodations all excellent. Simon and his crew strike just the right balance of helpfulness without being ... view more overly structured or intrusive. We
liked that we were with a group but not compelled to participate in activities with the group when we didn't feel like it. Scenery, history, route and route notes were excellent.

I brought my own bicycle, and am glad
since some people had difficulties with the ones they rented. Service,
attentiveness and hospitality could not have ... view more been better. I would definitely
take another tour from them. Price could not be beat.

Comments :-
This was an accompanied tour for the full 8 days. It was very well organised
and thought out with great attention to detail and the accommodation
supplied of a more than adequate standard, although the quality and condition
of the hired cycles may not have suited all experienced cyclists.

In summary - a very enjoyable and exceptional experience.

Iberocycle was fantastic and Simon Profitt was a willing and helpful coordinator. The only thing I would recommend to future cyclists in Spain is to be aware ... view more that that area of Spain (North) is very traditional in their eating habits (main, hot meal at 2pm and light dinner at 9 or 10 pm and a very small breakfast) and those habits are not the very best for people who are cycling all day. Cyclists will want to plan ahead and shop for supplemental rations to bring along with them. Also helpful is a good Spanish/English (French, German...) dictionary and phrasebook.

This tour operator was excellent in responding to our questions.

The trip was one of the best I have ever taken. The scenery we were taken through was ... view more breathtaking and the accommodation of very good quality. The tour operator was attentive to our needs and went well
beyond the call of duty to ensure that we were properly looked after.

We very much recommend this trip for anyone who has a good degree of fitness, likes to experience a somewhat "different" Spain, and surprising wilderness.
