		We took the "Preview" tour package of Cairo, Luxor, and Aswan in February, and it was everything we had hoped for. At the airport and every time we ... view more got on or off a train or checked in anywhere, there was a representative and transportation ready and waiting for us. The guides were students doing their Master's degrees in Egyptology and were incredibly knowledgeable, as well as friendly and flexible. You will actually learn something about everything you see (which hopefully you consider a good thing!). Don't be suspicious the low prices thinking the agency must cut corners. I can't see how they could have done more. We upgraded to a Sleeper Train (recommended, except for the risk of having smokers nearby stinking up your cabin). And we chose the ship (Nile Beauty) for our cruise, which was excellent, and our hotel (Victoria), which was a clean, comfortable 3-star. Keep in mind that what everyone says about tipping in Egypt is correct. Expect it to add 10%-20% to the cost of your tour, depending on how generous you want to be, but even still, vacationing in Egypt is a great value, and we really enjoyed it.

For the guides, Amr (in Cairo) was the best. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, and did not just abandon us to fend for ourselves at the various sites. I wish he could have been with us throughout. Mr Humbee (I don't know how to spell his name) in Aswan was our next favorite. The tour itself was remarkable! Laila and I especially enjoyed visiting the temples, the tombs, the trips to Alexandria and Abu Simbel, the various ways of travel, the cruise. The Nile River is so beautiful! While we seemed to be excluded from the German tourgroup aboard, we made lasting friendships among the crew. One outstanding occurrence was the housekeeper who made up our blankets and towels into artistic shapes daily: he fashioned two large birds, cobras, a reclining person, and other wonderful surprises; we thoroughly appreciated his artistry. The food on board was also delightfully presented, plentiful and good. Cruising up the Nile and stopping to visit various sites is a treasured memory; I would gladly do it again, but this time I would stay longer and visit even more temples and tombs, spend more time especially at Karnak and the Philae temple, plus visit other sites we have not yet seen in your great country. I tell everyone about our trip to Egypt. Many people don't think of vacationing there, but for me, your tour is one of the highlights of my life. I plan to write articles about our tour and send them to travel magazines; we'll see if any are published, but you can be sure I will mention Bestway Travel as our tour company. I was very ... view more suspicious when I saw how inexpensive your package was initially--you were offering a lot but charging a little, which seemed "too good to be true." But I was entirely pleased with all the offerings & thought the attention paid to me by the tour guides, drivers, and transport-transfer men was terrific. In fact, I have no criticism to make of the whole week. The food, the lectures at the locations, the itinerary, the hotel/cabin rooms were all satisfying, in fact more than satisfying. I absolutely feel good about the money I spent. Many package deals were so much more expensive than Best Way, but I was completely pleased with what I got. In fact, I'm not used to package tours, I'm more apt to arrive in a city with a Lonely Planet guide and find my own way, but I didn't want to negotiate such far-flung locales as Alexandria and Aswan alone this time with only a week to enjoy. Seeing Egypt in such a fun, classy way was EXACTLY what I wanted to experience...and without spending the thousands upon thousands of dollars in the Grand Circle Travel way! Thanks so much, Daniel

Our itinerary needed to be changed around due to our flights, and we booked only 4 days before we arrived, but they took care of everything. We saw so much, and our guide even took us to other attractions that he recommended to us and we agreed to, our guides were very informative and took 100% care of us. On a scal of 1 to 10, I would deffinitly give them a 10, I have referred them to a lot of other friends since, who have had the same results.

		1. promptness in answering questions: 9 2. knowledge in product: 10 - tour guides provided were excellent. not only were they knowledgeable in their product, ... view more they were also very friendly, courteous and took care of their clients in every need. 3. overall trip experience and additional information: 3 we had the unfortunate experience of being teamed up with a couple of foreigners from sweden who insisted that the tour guide speak their mother-tongue, arabic. the husband, especially, spoke non-spoke and had a very high opinion of the islamic antiquity which he constantly compared it to our every visit in egypt. my husband and i felt we had less than 30% of our english guide. this we felt, could have been avoided if the tour operator asked their clients of language preference prior to the trip. in addition, the couple was late in every visit, including having let us wait for over an hour while he prayed. as requested by our guide, we wrote a 2 page comment regarding our trip. whilst the antiquities were fantastic and tour guides excellent, we felt our 5 star, first class tour to be very misleading, re: form of tranport and level of accommodation. hence, we wrote in ernest to inform our tour operator who disappointingly, did not take the time to reply.

		a) Excellent guide and tour leader in Cairo, although probably rushed a bit to see pyramids, etc in a day. b) Night train supposedly 1st class, very ... view more ordinary, freezing cold, no sleepers, sitting up for 12 hours, food not good. Strongly recommend not using the night train and paying for a flight instead to Aswan(as we did for the return trip). c) Met at train by guide and whisked off (after 12 hours without showers/proper food) to more sightseeing. Understood we were going straight to the cruise boat first. Our luggage was taken back to their depot. The cruise ship was late and therefore we sat on the street for a long time, hot, tired, hungry. Eventually they took us to a hotel where we swam in the clothes we were wearing as our luggage wasn't available. Taken to cruise boat at 3.00pm where we eventually had lunch and showers and had to wait until the next port to get our luggage. Guide very knowledgeable. Luxor tour leader arrogant and abused us because we understood we were not going to sound and light show because we would be back too late from our day tour. Was going to make our guide pay for show, we reluctantly went, albeit missed half to avoid the guide being forced to pay our tickets (heavens knows they don't earn much anyway). d) The guide advised us that Milano wasn't one of the better tour companies and is happy to recommend a better one if we ever return. I will endeavour to get that company name for you. e) Guides are obviously encouraged to take you to certain places, which aren't always the "real" hub of Egypt and you pay a lot of money and limit your time at other places, eg the markets, where there is no kickbacks for them, but you might spend more money. Need to be more aggressive about your time allocation at places.

Also, would have liked to have been told that in LUXOR there is a wonderful museum which we could have planned time to visit. Think they deal with the GREATEST HITS but would have liked a bit more advise. Also our contact did not pick up up when we got off the bus at Herguada and we had to get a taxi at major inconvenience because then we had a problem at the hotel because we did not have our transfers. They apologised and fixed it but it was unnecessary stress and we were two women travelling alone - and we were COLD. We caught the train to ASWAN and were told on arrival we had missed our flight to the relocated temples - ABU SIMBEL. But others told us the flight was later so not sure if they had forgotten to book us on. Maybe we were too late but anecdotal evidence pointed to there being a bit of a stuff up - but we got our money back. Boat was good and so were hotels. I did recommend a friend to them who had a good holiday too but also thought they were a bit disorganised/needed a bit more communication in parts. They are a very medium rate operator and you get what you pay for (they are good value).
