For over 30 years Joe and Fran Tonsmeire have been providing the finest in wilderness adventure travel. Whether you are enjoying the beaches and hot springs on the Main Salmon, pushing your limits on the class V rapids of the Upper Owyhee, or taking in the beautiful wilderness scenery of the Flathead rivers- your trip with us will be one of the best you’ve ever taken. If you’re an old hand at rafting, we have trips full of excitement and challenge. If you’re just beginning your rafting career, we have some wonderful first-time rivers and our guides are experts at making new rafters feel right at home on the river.

Participation in every facet of the trip is encouraged and welcomed, but is optional. If you want to sit back and enjoy the scenery, or go for a hike while we cook, that's great! Or if you've got a great recipe and want to try your hand at cooking on an open fire, we'd love to have you show us something new! We want everyone to feel at home on our trip. If you've felt a distance between guest and guide on other trips, you'll be amazed by how our trips feel like a bunch of old friends getting together!

Guides: Our guides are experienced and trained in wilderness medicine, river rescue, and all the other skills that contributes to a top-notch guide. All our guides share Joe's sense of fun and adventure and want to give you the best trip of your life. Our guides love their work and being in the outdoors with people who want to experience all aspects of a wilderness adventure. They are there not just as a guide, but as friend and educator in the ways of the wilderness. On our trips, at least one guide is always available to accompany guests on side excursions - whether it's a hike up to Castle Lake or fishing along Sabe Creek's clear, cold water or just to relax around the campfire and talk over the day's events.

When you travel with our company you’ll enjoy our customized, flexible trips, without the hassles and stresses of a traditional vacation. We’re very proud of the trips we run, and you’ll see why when you join us. Here are a few things that will make your trip with us one of the best vacations you’ll ever take. If you want to push yourself, we’ll help you climb a mountain peak, paddle your own kayak or canoe, or try rock climbing and rappelling. If you want to kick back and relax, go ahead! We’ll serve up the delicious food, and the river will provide a setting that can’t be beat. Pristine wilderness, roaring rapids, going for days without seeing another group, eating grilled salmon and pineapple upside-down cake around the campfire…vacations don’t come any better than this!
