This is the perfect holiday for those who are looking for something different and want to fully experience Ireland. Instead of buses or minibuses we use 4X4 Land-Rovers, so our group sizes are smaller and more flexible and we can explore areas far beyond the reach of mortal tours.

You will leave the road behind and drive along beaches, into the mountains or across to Islands. Walk in the mountains, surf in the Atlantic, ride a horse or play golf. Clamber over ancient ruins, learn about pirate queens, retrace the steps of pilgrims or search for your ancestors. And at the end of the day, a roaring fire, some music, great food and a pint. M09366 - Winner 'Best Customer Focused Company' - Shell LiveWire Young Business Awards 2003.

"You leave the beaten track (and the well worn tourist trail) far behind... a great way to meet others and see the country."

Questions and Answers
We offer 5-12 day scheduled adventures or private tailor-made tours to the hidden corners of Ireland.

1. How long has the business been operating and how did it start?

M09366 was established in February 2002, the brain child of Rob Rankin who had been travelling in Southern Africa with his wife, Amy. While there, they saw the safari and 'overland' tours that were so popular and realised that a more adventurous way of seeing Ireland would be a fantastic experience for visitors. Ireland may not have the lions, elephants and deserts of Africa, but it certainly has plenty of great scenery, fascinating history and a few wild creatures running loose. Just what you need for a good safari.

2. What is your company's mission?

We have managed to sum this up in one phrase: We want our passengers to love Ireland as much as we do.

3. What does your company specialize in?

M09366 is Ireland’s original and best multi-activity and cultural adventure tour company. Offering 5-12 day scheduled adventures or private tailor-made tours to the hidden corners of Ireland. Our small groupsizes and professional, yet relaxed and informal, style makes M09366 a welcoming and safe way to see the off-the-beaten-track side of Ireland, to learn all about its history and culture, to take part in some refreshing activities and to enjoy great Irish scenery, welcome, music and pub life. As the Irish Times wrote “you leave the beaten track (and the well worn tourist trail) far behind…a great way to meet others and see the country”

4. Who is the founder or owner of the company and briefly describe his/her past activities?

Rob Rankin - Founder and owner of M09366. Originally born in Scotland but has lived in Ireland for many happy years, he started M09366 after travelling in Southern Africa and thinking that a more active, adventure tour of Ireland would be a great idea. Rob is an outdoor enthusiast and also a keen amateur historian (with an MA in Modern History), so this is the perfect job for him.

5. What is your most popular travel package and why?

The seven day southern tour has been our most popular tour over the last few years Its a great tour and shows Ireland at its very best. Plus it fits neatly into a week long vacation.

6. What is the best compliment you received from a client?

We have had many great compliments over the years, but when we hear that M09366 has been a life changing experience or the experience of a lifetime - that’s pretty hard to beat. Its always great too to hear personal comments directed towards the guiding team, we know that they are fantastic at their job and its always nice to hear that back from customers.

My grandparents are getting up there in age, but they still love to travel. As I was going through travel books and guides, I was getting nervous because I was ... view more afraid they would not be able to do a lot of the activities. Going to another country requires a lot of walking and can be very tiresome. They were planning a trip to Paris and asked for my help. I wanted them to see certain places in Paris such as the Parthenon, Notre Dame, The St. Germain Church, the Arc de Triomphe, and of course the Eifel Tower. As I was doing some research, I came across an article on a site called Associated Content that really caught my attention. Someone had actually taken the time to plan out a walking tour that kept our senior-folk in mind. I showed this to my grandparents and they were thrilled! They just got back a week ago and couldn't stop talking about all the amazing things they saw. They said one of the highlights (which is a personal favorite of mine), is the Musee D'Orsay. From there they walked down the Champs Elysees to see the Arc De Triomphe. Actually seeing the Arc de Triomphe in person was something they couldn't get over! I'm so glad they were able to see all of Paris, even in their old age!

We just returned from two trips with Vagabond. The people on the trips with us were great. Mark, Dave and Robb did a wonderful job as guides. I want to return next year and do it all over again
