M09984 has been organizing wilderness adventure travel in and around Southern Patagonia for over twelve years. Our riding adventures were the first long riding expeditions in the Torres del Paine National Park. They continue to be the best known and most successful in the area.

Run by a husband and wife team, Alec Quevedo and Lian Hayes, BlueGreen is a small company, which set out with one product – the Glacier Ride. This pioneering trip was designed to offer an unforgettable encounter with not only the astonishing landscape of the Torres del Paine National Park but also the people and wildlife that it sustains. Instead of following a few well-trodden paths, we decided to offer wilderness camping and riding. Instead of pony trekking, we offered fast-paced and challenging riding on fit and agile Criollo horses. Instead of using vehicles to move luggage, we used packhorses. Why, when it's more expensive? Because it enables clients to ride with baqueanos (Chilean gauchos), and share their journey with the local community. The Glacier Ride was a success.

In fact, this flagship ride has changed very little since its launch and we have set to work introducing new activities and trips in the same unique style as this popular ride. In addition to riding, we now offer a range of activities for scheduled and custom trips including hiking, fishing, kayaking, estancia stays, family holidays and a unique and one-of-its kind multi-activity trip called the Blue Ice Trail.

BlueGreen has evolved, but its philosophy remains the same. We still spend a lot of time researching new trails, riding and walking them and meeting local Patagonians. We still invest a great deal in local people and resources. Our baqueanos have been with us for years and are part of the BlueGreen family. Our guides are valued experts in their field. Our Criollo horses offer strength, willingness and honesty whether they are carrying clients or their supplies. And our clients, many of whom have become our friends, come back year after year because they know that a BlueGreen Adventure will always be unique, well planned, challenging and surprising.
