Spend the morning hiking the Matanuska Glacier, enjoying the unique ice formations and vivid blue pools. Then board the raft for a float down a less traveled stretch of the Matanuska River. Camp on the wild side of the river in the shadow of the Chugach Mountains. Look for wolf and bear tracks along the beach while your guide prepares a hearty Alaskan meal. Continue down river the following day and watch for Dall sheep or take a hike up one of the side drainages.
Enjoy the Ice Fall Trek. A 3 hour trek taking you to a high point on the glacier overlooking crevasses, seracs, blue pools and incredible ice formations. After lunch you board your raft for a float down the Matanuska River. This scenic stretch of river has some fun class II and III rapids. Enjoy a splendid campfire dinner and settle in for the midnight sun.
The second day, the river is a mild float and provides for beautiful scenery, wildlife spotting and hiking opportunities.
