Day 1: Bangor - Baxter State Park
Upon arrival at the border of Baxter State Park we begin an afternoon of mountain biking from Nesowadnehuk Lake to Kidney and Togue Lakes. The area's network of abandoned roads and former railroad beds provide a superb biking venue. (D).
Day 2: Penobscot River
Raft the West Branch of the Penobscot for breathtaking scenery, the sheer canyon walls of Ripogenus Gorge, and exhilarating rapids including the Staircase, Cribwork and more. For easier rapids, opt to raft the lower portion of the river. (B/L/D).
Day 3: Chimney Pond - Great Basin
Today we immerse ourselves in this place of discovery with a hike from Chimney Pond to the Great Basin, hiking above treeline with stunning views of Katahdin. (B/L/D).
Day 4: Bar Harbor - Acadia National Park
After a morning shuttle to Bar Harbor explore the white sand beaches and the rocky points of Maine's breathtaking coastline from sea kayaks. (B/L/D).
Day 5: Acadia National Park
Bike Mt. Desert Island's legendary carriage roads, built in the 1920s. Cycle the Around the Mountain Loop, which leads past waterfalls and over seven bridges. End the day exploring the shops and sights of Bar Harbor. (B/L/D).
Day 6: Acadia National Park
Today we hike the coastline from Sand Beach to the cliffs of Otter Point, passing "Thunder Hole" along the way. The trail continues to Mt. Gorham with spectacular ocean views and on to the Great Head Cliffs, the highest point on Mt. Desert Island. (B/L).
Trip Fees Include: full day whitewater rafting trip, half day sea kayak trip, all meals, all accommodations (double occupancy), T-shirt, water bottle, support vehicle, professional guides, and mountain bike riding, sea kayaking and whitewater rafting instruction.
