This is a 5 day kayak trip intended for those people interested in exploring the beautiful wilderness areas of Ontario's Georgian Bay 30,000 Island archipelago while improving their paddling skills and wilderness camping techniques with a sea Kayak. Also 3 day packages are available.
Our CRCA / ORCA accredited instructors and guides will teach you the appropriate basic or advanced kayak handling and paddling skills necessary for safe and confident flat water kayak travel. You will learn wet exits, assisted and self rescue techniques. What makes the best kayak design and materials for different types of trips. What gear is appropriate for kayak tripping and how to pack it. How to select and set up a good campsite for time of year, weather conditions and group size. We travel with only the best light weight modern equipment with such amenities as outback ovens to bake fresh breads and goodies and comfortable 2 person tents. The food is fresh and plentiful, in fact most people comment that they eat better on our trips than they do at home! There will be ample time each day to relax and explore the surrounding area, swim, fish or just kick back and enjoy. You will need only your personal items and a sleeping bag. Waterproof, high quality kayak packs will be supplied for your use. Round trip transportation from Toronto included. Your Itinerary Day 1: 7:30 am meeting at pick-up location in Toronto. Travel to Georgian Bay. Put-in at Key River and travel to our 1st camp site. Lunch in route. Arrive at camp around 3 pm. Set up camp, relax and enjoy the surrounding wilderness area. Cook dinner and relax around camp fire. Retire to 2 person tents for the night. (L/D). Day 2: Breakfast, paddle to still yet unexplored areas for the morning while our guides / instructors continue to teach and improve your kayak and paddling skills. Lunch in route, make new camp around 3 pm. Relax, explore and enjoy the surrounding wilderness area. Cook dinner and relax around camp fire. Retire to 2 person tents for the night. (B/L/D). Day 3: Breakfast, paddle to still yet unexplored areas for the morning while our guides/instructors continue to teach and improve your kayak and paddling skills. Lunch in route, make new camp around 3 pm. (Here the trip ends for those who chose the 3-day package). Relax, explore and enjoy the surrounding wilderness area. Cook dinner and relax around camp fire. Retire to 2 person tents for the night. (B/L/D). Day 4: Breakfast, paddle to still yet unexplored areas for the morning while our guides / instructors continue to teach and improve your kayak and paddling skills. Lunch in route, make new camp around 3 pm. Relax, explore and enjoy the surrounding wilderness area. Cook dinner and relax around camp fire. Retire to 2 person tents for the night. (B/L/D). Day 5: Breakfast, paddle to still yet unexplored areas for the morning while our guides / instructors continue to teach and improve your kayak and paddling skills.
