Starting off in Madrid, the city that never sleeps and rich in art and monuments. Spend time visiting the museums, shopping and of course to go out at night for tapas and wines. From Madrid you will fly over to Barcelona, the cosmopolitan and modernist city of Spain. Here you will admire the works of Antonio Gaudi and walk along the famous street La Rambla. On the outskirts of Barcelona you will have time to visit a Cava winery in the heart of the wine region D.O. Cava.

Then driving through Aragon you will make a stop in Zaragoza while en-route to the wine region of D.O. La Rioja. In this region you will have time to spend touring quaint wine towns and wineries. Continuing on you will drive up to the Cantabrian coast stopping en-route to visit the old quarter and Cathedral of Burgos and then arriving in the noble village of Santillana del Mar in Cantabria. Then you will visit Bilbao with its world renowned Guggenheim museum and follow further along the coast to San Sebastian. Ending the trip you will drive back to Barcelona making a stop in Pamplona en-route.

Your Itinerary:

Day 1: Madrid. Arrival to Barajas Airport. Take a taxi to your hotel in the centre of Madrid. Visit on your own the important sites eg: Plaza Mayor, Puerta Del Sol etc. Lunch and Dinner on your own. Overnight in Madrid.

Day 2: Madrid. Breakfast. Visit on your own the important sites eg: Pardo Museum, Royal Palace , Retiro Park etc. Lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight in Madrid. Includes: (B).

Day 3: Madrid. Breakfast. Spend the day visiting sights you didn't see the days before and shop the streets. Lunch and Dinner on your own. Overnight in Madrid. Includes: (B).

Day 4: Madrid (Fly) – Barcelona. Breakfast. Take a taxi to Barajas Airport. Flight to Barcelona (leaving approx. every hour). Upon arrival to Prat Airport take a taxi to your hotel in the centre of Barcelona. Visit on your own the important sites eg: La Rambla, Gothic Cathedral & Old Quarter etc. Lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight in Barcelona. Includes: (B).

Day 5: Barcelona. Breakfast. Visit on your own Gaudi's work eg: Casa Batllo, Casa Mila, La Sagrada Famila, Guell Park etc. Lunch & dinner on your own. Overnight in Barcelona. Includes: (B).

Day 6: Barcelona - San Sadurni De Noya – Barcelona. Breakfast. Pick up Car Rental in the morning. Take a morning trip to visit the Cava Winery of Cordorniu located outside of Barcelona in San Sadurni de Noya. Return to Barcelona. Explore Barcelona the rest of the day on your own. Day 7: Barcelona - Zaragoza - Santo Domingo De La Calzada. Breakfast. Drive to Zaragoza visit the Plaza Mayor & Cathedral. Continue on to Santo Domingo De La Calzada in the La Rioja wine region. Check in to Hotel. Visit to Santo Domingo de la Calzada, a famous village on the Pilgrimage Route with a 13th century cathedral. Lunch & dinner on your own. Overnight in Santo Domingo de la Calzada. Day 8: Santo Domingo Calzada - Haro - (Drive Around La Rioja) - Santo Domingo De La Calzada. Breakfast. Drive to Haro, wine capital of La Rioja, visit to the town & one of the many wineries. Take a driving tour on your own around La Rioja wine region visit wine towns eg: Laguiardia, Elciego, etc. On you way back to Santo Domingo de la Calzada stop in San Millan De La Cogolla. Visit the Human Heritage monasteries of Suso (X century) and Yuso (XI century), birthplace of Castilian language. Lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight in Santo Domingo de la Calzada. Day 9: Santo Domingo De La Calzada - Burgos - Santillana Del Mar. Breakfast. Drive to Burgos visit the Plaza Mayor & Cathedral. Continue to Santillana Del Mar on the Cantabrian coast. Check in Parador. Explore the village. Lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight in Santillana del Mar. Includes: (B).

Day 10: Santilla Del Mar - Picos De Europa Or Costal Beach Towns - Santillana Del Mar. Breakfast. Drive around the Picos De Europa visiting towns and sites like: Altamira Cave, Fuente De, Covadonga etc. Or visit the costal beach towns like: Comillas, Santander etc. Lunch & dinner on your own.
