Starting off the journey by arriving to Madrid's Airport and then drive to Toledo where you will be based for 2 nights to explore the old Jewish quarter and Synagogue. What better way to understand about the history than with a Local guide who will give you an informative look at the city. From Toldeo you will then continue on visiting cities with local guides to show you around, cities like: Avila, Salamanca, Caceres etc.

In Andalucia you will visit the ancient Jewish quarters of Sevilla, Granada and Cordoba. Along the way you will be staying in the comforts of Paradors, Historic Hotel and charming Manors. Come follow the footprints of Sephardic Spain!

Your Itinerary:

Day 1: Madrid Airport – Toledo. Pick up car rental at the Airport. Drive to Toledo (approx.85 km). Dinner on your own. Overnight in Toledo.

Day 2: Toledo. Breakfast. Morning half-day guided visit of the Old Jewish Quarter, Sinagoge, Alcazar, Etc. Of Toledo (Private Guide). Afternoon free to explore this ancient city on your own. Lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight in Toledo. Includes: (B).

Day 3: Toledo - Avila - Salamanca. Breakfast. Drive from Toledo to Avila (128km approx.). Morning half-day guided visit of Avila Ex. Roman Walls, Cathedral Etc. (Private Guide). Lunch on your own in Avila or on route to Salamanca. Drive from Avila to Salamanca (approx. 99km). Afternoon half-day guided visit of the old quarter of Salamanca also Plaza Mayor, University etc. (private guide). Dinner on your own. Overnight in Salamanca. Includes: (B).

Day 4: Salamanca - Hervas - Plasencia - Caceres. Breakfast. Drive from Salamanca to Hervas (approx. 95km). Visit Hervas with its old Jewish quarter one of the oldest and most preserved in Spain. (on your own). Lunch on your own in Hervas or in Plasencia your next stop. Drive from Hervas to Plasencia (approx. 40 km). Visit the old quarter of Plasencia Ex. Cathedral, Plaza Mayor etc. (on your own). Drive from Plasencia to Caceres (approx. 85kms). Afternoon half-day guided visit of medieval Caceres a very important city which witnessed the migration of Jews to Portugal after their expulsion from Spain and which played an important role for the Jewish Communities during the 15th century. (private guide). Dinner on your own. Overnight in Caceres. Includes: (B).

Day 5: Caceres - Merida - Zafra - Torre De La Reina. Breakfast. Drive from Caceres to Merida (approx. 65km). Visit Merida former Roman capital of western Spain with its magnificent Roman Ruins, Amphitheater And The Museum Of Roman Artifacts. (on your own). Mon-Fri 10:00am - 2:00pm / 4:00pm - 6:00pm / you can spend time in the museum & ruins where they have guides to show you around. Lunch on your own recommended in the Parador of Zafra village on your way to Sevilla (approx. 62km). Drive from Zafra to Torre de la Reina located 13 km's from Sevilla (approx. 137km). Relax the rest of day, save all the major sightseeing for a full day tomorrow. Dinner on your own. Overnight in Torre de la Reina. Includes: (B).

Day 6: Torre De La Reina - Sevilla - Torre De La Reina. Breakfast. Drive to Sevilla. Morning half-day guided visit of Sevilla, at one time Spain's largest city, the gateway through which the riches of the New World poured. It could be that Sevilla learned to enjoy the finer things in life in the days of the Moors, when it was the capital of King Al-Mutamid, know for his love of poetry and music. The Moors left behind marvelous examples of their architecture, such as the Giralda, at one time a minaret and today part of Sevilla's cathedral. Visit Seville's Cathedral with its Giralda Tower. See the Alcazar, a Moorish palace and royal residence, and El Barrio De Santa Cruz, once the thriving Jewish quarter, preserved with great care. (private guide). Dinner on your own, try one of the many restaurants located in the Santa Cruz. Even try a night out in one of the many taverns with live Flamenco dancing. Drive back to hotel when desired. Overnight in Torre de la Reina. Include: (B).

Day 7: Torre De La Reina – Granada. Breakfast. Drive from Torre de la Reina to Granada (approx. 241 km). Check into your hotel upon arrival to Granada. In the Afternoon a half-day guided visit of Granada, once "Granada of the Jews", site of Samuel La Nagid's Talmudic Academy. Visit the palace of Alhambra and it's Generalife Gardens. It was here in 1492 that the decree expelling the Jew from Spain was signed. (private guide). Lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight in Granada. Include: (B).

Day 8: Granada - Cordoba - Madrid. Breakfast. Drive from Granada to Cordoba (approx. 156 km). Drive to Cordoba birthplace of Mases Malmonides. Meeting your local guide in front of the Restaurant Caballo Rojo right in front of the gorgeous 8th Century Mosque, now the Cordoba. Half-day guided visit of the Mosque and Jewish Quarter, see the Statue of Maimonides and walk the Calle de los Judios to the ancient synagogue (private guide). Drive from Cordoba to Madrid (approx. 390 km). Drop of Car Rental at Europcars office San Leonardo, 8 which is very close to your hotel. Take a taxi to your hotel. Relax the rest of the day, walk around and do some shopping in the city. Lunch & dinner on your own. Overnight in Madrid. Include: (B).

Day 9: Madrid. Breakfast. Morning half-day bus tour of Madrid including a Panoramic tour, and a visit to the Prado Museum. (Group Tour). At your own Leisure after the tour for lunch and to walk Madrid's streets and visit other sights like Royal Palace etc. Overnight in Madrid. Include: (B).

Day 10: Madrid – Barajas. Breakfast. Take a taxi from your hotel to Barajas Airport. Return to point of origin city. Include: (B).
