- Mountain Biking/ Western Maine - Canoeing/ Northern Maine - Hiking/ Mt. Katahdin - Whitewater Rafting/ Penobscot River - Sea Kayaking/ Stonington (Lobster Bake Included). With the middle three days in northern Maine, there will be time to reflect on the activities and images of the day. It starts with mountain biking in the fresh air and rugged trails of western Maine. A day paddle on a remote lake in Northern Maine where moose are likely to be cooling off. Continue to Baxter State Park where you hike through the North Maine Woods, then leave them behind as you ascend Mt. Katahdin. Next, grab a paddle and start your whitewater trip down one of Maine's premier whitewater rivers. Finally, head for the ocean to enjoy a day of kayaking along the rugged coastline. By now, they hope you have built an appetite for a traditional Downeast Lobster Bake. All activities guided and outfitted, experience not required. Gourmet meals prepared over the campfire. Accommodations include tents, yurts and cabins. Group size limited to ten people. Customized trips arranged for families, groups, and corporate outings. Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Rendez-vous at Maine Path and Paddle Guides base in Windham, Maine. At 8:00 am departure for Parsonfield. Full day mountain biking with equipment, guide, and instruction provided. Camp in Yurt in Parsonfield. Includes: (L), (D). Day 2: Travel to one of several Northern Maine lakes where we will put in for a full day of paddling. Equipment and guide will be provided. We will relocate to a campsite convenient to Baxter State Park for tomorrows hike. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 3: Full day of hiking Katahdin in Baxter State Park. Camp at Big Moose Inn and Campground. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 4: Full day of whitewater rafting on the west branch of the Penobscot River. Equipment, guide, and instruction provided. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 5: Travel to Saturday Cove, Northport, ME. Sea kayaking with equipment, guide, and instruction provided. Finish with a traditional Downeast Lobster bake.
