Camping highlights: The crackling campfire, the desert silence, and the glow of the sunrise on canyon walls are all part of the allure of camping in the Colorado and Utah outback. Our backcountry camps are set in stunning red rock locations on the banks of the Colorado River. Your Itinerary Days 1-2: Moab - Kokopelli Trail From Moab we shuttle to Loma, Colorado for the start of 45 miles of mountain biking on the classic Kokopelli Trail. Bike along the Colorado River and explore innumerable side canyons as we work our way west into Utah. (B/L/D). Day 3: Colorado River in Westwater Canyon Swap pedals for paddles today as we whitewater raft through the black schist of Westwater Canyon, filled with exciting rapids like Funnel Falls and Skull. (B/L/D). Day 4: Fisher Towers and Arches National Park Hike to Fisher Towers, the setting for several western movies, and into the labyrinth of sandstone fins of the Fiery Funace. Wrap up with one final slickrock hike to picturesque Delicate Arch. (B/L/D). Day 5: Klondike Bluffs and Monitor & Merrimac Bike some fun slickrock sections en route to the awe-inspiring vistas of Arches National Park. At trail's end, take a hike to massive Tower Arch. (B/L/D). Day 6: Moab Valley Strap on a climbing harness for an introduction to the sport of rock climbing. Learn the basics in the morning - the equipment and terminology, knot tying and belaying - and progress to some basic rock climbs before and after lunch. (B/L). Notes: Cost: $1295 (camping).
