Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: We pick you up in Whitehorse or Haines, Alaska. Check in at the lodge with a welcome drink and lunch. A short hike is planned to the nearby beaver pond and rock glacier. Days 2 & 3: Mountain bike, hike or ATV along an old trap-line to our outpost cabin at Frederick Lake. We have a motor boat at this remote lake to explore the area. There are excellent opportunities to watch moose, black bear, grizzly bear, beaver and eagles. We stay overnight in the trapper's cabin. Your guide will help you to catch a fish and prepare it for lunch. Day 4: Boat tour on Kathleen Lake and hike to King's throne. This is a steep hike but you will be rewarded with the most scenic and extraordinary view of Kathleen Lake, the Kathleen River system and the Shakwak Valley. As an alternative program we offer you a canoe tour Kathleen Lake to Rainbow Lake. Days 5 & 6: After breakfast we leave the lodge by canoe and cross Dezadeash Lake. We head for Six Mile Lake, a shallow protected lake and a perfect moose habitat. Once we canoe through the lake, we enter the Dezadeash River. We set up camp on a sandy bank and enjoy a good night rest outdoors. The next day we continue to follow the Dezadeash River until we reach Champagne, a native village, where we will be picked up and brought back to Dalton Trail Lodge. As an alternative program we offer a mountain bike, hike or ATV along an old bush trail to our gold claims at Kimberly Creek. We stay overnight in a beautiful log cabin. We have a little sluice box and all the necessary tools for you. Kimberly Creek is bordering Kluane National Park and also is an excellent base camp to explore the park.
