Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: We pick you up in Whitehorse or Haines, Alaska. Check in at the lodge with a welcome drink and lunch. A short hike is planned to the nearby beaver pond and rock glacier. Day 2: After you've enjoyed our northern breakfast buffet we drive to Kathleen Lake in Kluane National Park (10 minutes). With a safe and fast boat we tour this crystal-blue mountain lake, watch for grizzly bear, black bear, moose, dall sheep, mountain goat and eagles along the way. A short hike will lead us to Louise Lake with it's breath taking scenery. Your guide will prepare some delicious fish for lunch! Day 3: With a 4 x 4 truck we drive up an old mining access road, cross two streams and after two hours of driving, arrive at beautiful Mush Lake. We have a motor boat stored on the shore and travel by boat to our camp on a sandy beach at the end of the lake. A short passage around very scenic rapids brings us to Bates Lake with a great view of the St. Elias Mountains and their snow and ice fields. Mush and Bates lakes are excellent habitat for moose and grizzly bear. Day 4: Today you will visit the Alsek Valley. We call it "Grizzly Valley". First we travel by 4 x 4 truck and then we hike deeper into the wilderness. This is our favorite spot to watch grizzly bear and dall sheep. Day 5: Following an adventurous bush road we visit our gold claims at Kimberly Creek. This road sinks itself deep behind the Alsek Range where we witness true northern wilderness. You can try your hand at panning for gold. We have a sluice box and all the necessary tools for you to test your luck and find a big Yukon gold nugget. Day 6: Visit a traditional native village with it's famous salmon trap and an impressive waterfall en route to the high alpine of the Kusawa Range. Once we reach the Chilkat Pass with our van, we go for a short walk and enjoy the breathtaking scenery. Day 7: After breakfast we drive you back to Whitehorse or Haines, Alaska. Home departure.
