The SAGA DAWA is one of the most important and cherishable Tibetan Buddhist festivals, held each year on the full moon day of the fourth lunar month of the Tibetan calendar, to celebrate Sakyamuni's enlightenment. This astounding festival is also known as the Festival for Releasing Living Things, and during this festival, Tibetan people do not eat meat and kill any living things in the fourth month of the Tibetan year in order to concentrate their efforts on worshipping. A legend says on the 15th day of the fourth month of the Tibetan year Sakyamuni was born, became a Buddha and died. On this day each year, the people will dress in their splendid attire and sing and dance and have a picnic or gathering in Lingka.

Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Drive early morning to Kodari boarder, proceed to Nyalam, overnight at guest house.
Day 2: Rest day in Nyalam for acclimatisation. Overnight at guest house.
Day 3: Drive from Nyalam To Tingri. Overnight at the guest house.
Day 4: Drive from Tingri to Rongbuk. Overnight at the Guest house.
Day 5: Day excursion to Everest Base Camp and back to Tingri. Overnight at guest house.
Day 6: Drive fron Tingri to Paigutso lake. Overnight at Guest house.
Day 7: Drive from Paigutso Lake to Saga. Overnight at guest house.
Day 8: Drive from Saga to Paryang.
Day 9: Drive from Paryang to Tarboche (or Darchen).
Day 10: Attend to the Saga Dawa at Tarboche – Camp.
Day 11: June 08, Start to the Kora, night camp at Dira Puk – Camp.
Day 12: Continue Parikarma over Drom La Pass, night camp at Zutul Puk – Camp.
Day 13: End Parikarma and early in the afternoon leave for Tholing and Tsaparang.
Day 14: Arrive Tholing and start the visit.
Day 15: Continue the visit of the Monasteries.
Day 16: Drive to Manasarovar, night camp possibly at Chiu Gompa – Guest house.
Day 17: Tour of the lake, night at Guest House.
Day 18: Drive from Manasarovar to Paryang, night at guest house.
Day 19: Drive from Paryang to Saga, night at guest house.
Day 20: Drive from Saga to Nyalam, night at guest house.
Day 21: Drive from Nyalam to Kathmandu.
