Afternoon: visit the enchanting citaled of Cividale in the eastern foothills of Friuli known for its delicious cuisine, top wines and lovely atmosphere that you can breathe strolling around the narrow cobblestone streets leading to the famous Devil's bridge and the enchanting main square. Stop at a panoramic winery on the way back to your hotel for a guided tour of the estate followed by wine tasting with a selection of cheeses and salamis. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon. Afternoon: visit the ancient fishing village of Grado now turned into a state of the art beach resort which still preserves a picturesque old town centre with ancient churches and a Roman Basilica. Tour continuation towards Aquileia, the most important Roman archaeological site in northern Italy. Founded in 181 B.C., Aquileia still preserves remains of the forum, Roman public baths and private houses and the ancient basilica which hosts one of the largest and most spectacular early Christian mosaics in western Europe.
