On "vie ferrate" we explore the massifs of Catinaccio and Sciliar: rock walls, towers and peaks, barren and wild! The famous Alpine Glowing, cozy and traditional mountain lodges - all characteristics of the Catinaccio, the magical heart of the Dolomites.
Your Itinerary: Day 1, Saturday: Arrival You meet your guide at Passu di Carezzo at the bottom of the Catinaccio at 6 pm, where your guide briefs you the process of the week and checks equipment. Dinner and overnight in the hotel. Day 2, Sunday: Masarè / Roda de Vael Ascent by chairlift to the bottom of the Catinaccio and an easy hike to the beginning of the “via ferrata”. After learning security techniques, exposed climbing paths lead us through the ridges of Masarè and to the top of Roda de Vael (2810m). Enjoyable break and views at the summit! Overnight in the mountain lodge Roda de Vael (2280m). Walking hours: approx. 5-6,30 hours. Day 3, Monday: Passu santner / Roda di Re Laurino Hiking with fantastic views to the mountain inn A. Fronza. The “via ferrata” follows through a wild rock gorge up to Passu santner (2740m) and further to Roda di Re Laurina (2850), which is an easy climb and guarantees you spectacular views down to the valley! Overnight in Rifugio Re Alberto (2630m). Walking hours: approx. 5 hours. Day 4, Tuesday: Catinaccio di Antermoia Descent to Val Vajolet and ascent to Passu Principe (2600m), where is our starting point of the “via ferrata” to the peak of Catinaccio di Antermoia (3005) with its breathtaking views to the surrounding mountains and down to the valleys. A different route (at the east side) brings us down to the lovely mountain lake of Antermoja and nearby mountain lodge Antermoja (2500), where we stay for the night. Walking hours: approx. 5 hours. Day 5, Wednesday: Molignon / Via Ferrata Laurenzi The most difficult “via ferrata” of the Catinaccio mountain range leads over the ridge of Molignon to Alpe di Tires (2450m), the connecting point of the mountain ranges of Catinaccio, Sciliar and Alpe di Siusi . Overnight in the cosy and comfortable mountain lodge Alpe di Siusi. Walking hours: approx. 4-5 hours. Day 6, Thursday: Denti di Terra Rossa / Sciliar A short and easy “via ferrata” leads us to the wonderful plateau of the Sciliar, where we can enjoy a relaxing walk and descent through the Sella Cavaccio to Tires . Transfer to Passu di Costalunga . Dinner and overnight in the hotel. Walking hours: approx. 5-6. Day 8, Friday: Departure Notes: Included:
