We travel around the huge glacier massive of the Monte Rosa (4635m) from Gessoney (Italy) to Zermatt (Switzerland). Passionate off piste skiers will get their money's worth...
Your Itinerary: Day 1: Welcome Your guide welcomes you at the hotel in Gressoney (Italy), explains the program of the week and distributes the ski passes. At dinner, you’ll have the chance to get to know your fellow safari goers. We’ll spend two nights at this hotel. Day 2: Gressoney On piste and off piste skiing in the Monte Rosa ski area in Gressoney. Short instruction on off piste security regulations and the use of avalanche transceivers. Day 3: Heliskiing Lyskamm – Zermatt After some on piste descents, a helicopter will bring us up to the Lyskamm. We will land between 3800 and 4400 meters, depending on the weather and snow conditions. Magnificent long descent on the glacier to Zermatt. 3 nights at a small hotel in Zermatt. Day 4-Day 5: Zermatt From Zermatt, we’ll undertake 2 fabulous heliskiing descents from the Monte Rosa glacier and from the Matterhorn. The Zermatt ski area also offers great off piste and on piste descents. Day 6: Zermatt – Cervinia The funiculars take us up to the small Matterhorn (3800m). Long descent to Cervinia (1950m) and Valtournanche (1520m), through a vast high alpine ski area. Overnight stay at a hotel in Valtournanche. Day 7: Valtournanche – Gressoney After some on piste descents and a short off piste ascent, we enjoy the off piste descent to Champoluc. Using ski lifts, we get back to Gressoney, the starting point of this ski safari. Overnight stay at a hotel in Gressoney. Day 8: Departure Our ski safari week ends after breakfast. Notes: Included:
