Well-organised logistical supports make our cycle expeditions accessible to most. Our optional vehicle support has always room for those who need a break from their cycle.
Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Upon arrival at the airport we will be welcomed by your guide. He will bring us to our comfortable, centrally located hotel. In the afternoon we will visit the Gandantegchinlen Monastery. It is the largest and most important monastery of Mongolia. We will scroll through the different monasteries, observe the daily rituals of the lamas and see the magnificent statue of Migjid Janraisig, a 82-food high statue gilded in gold and covered with silk cloths. In the evening enjoy a welcome diner at a local restaurants. Overnight: Hotel. Includes: (L), (D). Day 2: After a good breakfast at our hotel restaurant, we will set off to the countryside in our vehicles. During this two-days trip we will cover a total distance of 800 km to reach our horses and wranglers in Hovsgol aimag (province). We will drive through a magnificent landscape of green grasslands and rolling hills of central Mongolia. On the road we will see many herds of horses, cows, yaks, sheep and goats. In the evening we will set up our camp on a nice spot along the road to the North. Overnight: Tented Camp. includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 3: A second day of driving. The landscape progressively evolves from rolling hills to the land of taiga forest and lush grassland. In the evening we will arrive at the Uushig valley, site of the Ancient Graves. We will set up our tented camp in this valley. Overnight: Tented Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 4: Beginning of the afternoon we will reach Sumber village, departure spot of our cycling tour. In the afternoon we will assemble our bikes and try them in the area. (Overnight: Tented Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 5: Today we start our 11 days cycle expedition in the remote region of the Tsagaan People and the reindeer. After a full day cycling we will reach the little village of Toom. Overnight: Tented Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 6: We will cycle more northwards, across the Oliin Davaa Pass. In the evening we will set up our camp close to Ulaan-Uul village. Overnight: Tented Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 7: Now we reached the Darkhadiin Khotgor Depression. The depression, originally formed as a glacial lake, is surrounded by several high mountains. Their peaks reach a height of almost 3.000 meters. The depression is home to over 150 alpine lakes. We will cycle more northward to reach Soyo village where we will camp among the banks of the Khog River. Overnight: Tented Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 8: Today we will have a day rest. Those who are interested may try to fish. Please bring your fishing gear with you. The lakes and rivers are full of fish. Around a dozen species of fish inhabit the lake and rivers. The most well known are the sturgeon, grayling, lennok, salmon, taimon, etc. As our horsemen are fishing fans, you will have many opportunities to go fishing. Overnight: Tented Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Days 9-11: For three days we will explore the region of the alpine lakes. We will search for Tsaatan families. The last day we will set up our camp close to Renchinlkhumbe village. Overnight: Tented Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Days 12-13: Today we will leave the Darkhadiin Khotgor Depression towards Hovsgol Lake. We will cycle two days, cross Jiglegiin Davaa Pass before descending to the lake. From the pass we will enjoy a breathtaking view over the Mongolian Blue Pearl. Hovsgol Lake is a huge 2760 square km alpine lake (130 km in length and 30 km in width), surrounded by mountain chains, thick pine forests and lush meadow with grazing yaks and horses. More than 100 small rivers and streams feed the lake with crystal clear water. Water exits the lake through only one river, the Egiin, whose waters eventually reach the Baikal Lake. The lake contains about 1.5% of the world's fresh water (excluding water contained in the icecaps). The lake and rivers are full of fish. Around a dozen species of fish inhabit the lake and rivers. The most well known are the sturgeon, grayling, lennok, salmon, taimon, etc. We will set up our tented camp on the shores of the lake, close to Khar Us. Overnight: Tented Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 14: We will have a full day rest at the lake. Overnight: Tented Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 15: Today is your last day riding. We cycle along the lake, from Khar Us to Toilogt. Overnight: Tented Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D). Day 16: After breakfast we will drive to Murun, capital city of Hovsgol province. Overnight: Ger Camp. Includes: (B), (L, (D). Day 17: We will fly back to Ulaanbaatar. Overnight: Hotel. Includes: (B), (L, (D). Day 18: Today we have a free day to stroll around in Ulaanbaatar, to visit some museums or to buy some souvenirs before heading back home. In the evening we will have a far well dinner in one of Ulaanbaatar's best restaurant. vernight: Hotel. Includes: (B), (D). Day 19: After breakfast, transfer to the airport for departure.
