WELCOME TO BASEBALL’S SACRED GROUNDS!
Arrive in New York City. Your GTC guide will outline the exciting details of your tour and introduce you to fellow baseball fans at the welcome reception. Then, we’re off to the ball game: the Staten Island Yankees vs. the Brooklyn Cyclones. While there, enjoy an All-you-can-eat Picnic Supper. (D)
Day 2: A GREAT DAY IN NEW YORK
After breakfast, we begin with a tour of the Big Apple, including a special “Stage Door
Tour” at Radio City Music Hall. After lunch on you own, we’ll tour the new Yankee Stadium before we watch the world-famous New York Yankees play against Oakland. You will be given a meal stipend for your dinner here. (B, D)
Day 3: NEW YORK/COOPERSTOWN
Depart New York for Cooperstown. Discussions on the way include such topics as the
evolution of sports journalists and their role in sports today or watch your favorite baseball movie. Lunch is free time, your opportunity to explore Cooperstown on your own. Spend the afternoon at the Hall of Fame; see the permanent exhibits and visit the Baseball Wax Museum. Participate in the family oriented “Connecting Generations” trivia game featuring a panel of Hall of Famers matching wits with people from audience. Holiday Inn Schenectedy (B,D)
Day 4: Cooperstown.
It’s back to Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame. During induction, several COOPERSTOWN/ HALL OF FAME INDUCTIONS
It’s back to Cooperstown and the Baseball Hall of Fame. During induction, several players, commentators and journalists will join an elite group of baseball professionals who have attained the highest baseball honor in recognition of their skills. The ceremony is in an open field but we’ll have chairs for our group. After the ceremony feel free to return to Main Street and search for memorabilia or return to the Hall of Fame museum. (B,D)
Day 5: COOPERSTOWN/BOSTON
Following breakfast, depart for Boston! On arrival, we’ll enjoy lunch at famous Cheers!
— The Bull & Finch Pub which inspired the TV show. Later, enjoy a student-led tour of the Harvard University Campus. Tonight, watch the Boston Red Sox to see whether they match the Yankees abilities against Oakland. (B, L)
Day 6: A GREAT DAY IN BOSTON
After breakfast, we begin with a Boston City tour, beginning with Fenway Park, then
highlighting the sites of the famous Freedon Trail. Enjoy some free time in the Faneuil Hall/ Quincy Market and then it’s off to Museum of Science. This evening a Sports Industry Professional will join us for a Dinner Discussion. (B, L, D)
Day 7: FAREWELL!
Meet for a farewell breakfast and transfer on your own to Boston’s Logan International
