Solden and the spectacular Oztal Arena has been a favorite winter destination of Europeans for years. This vast region offers a perfect combination of superb skiing and lively village atmosphere. The town sits at an elevation of 4,518 feet with the highest lift reaching 10,856 feet. Two cable car stations at opposite ends of town rise up to the ski area, where 34 lifts cover 87 miles of marked runs on slopes to match all tastes and abilities including the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glacier ski areas.
The area is also host to a six-mile run which starts at 10,032 feet and ends back in town six miles later. In addition, the nearby villages and ski areas of Obergurgl and Hochgurgl are just a short bus ride away. Cross-country skiers can enjoy ten miles of prepared tracks in the valley; thrill seekers can test their courage on a five kilometer toboggan run; and non-skiers are welcome to ride the cable cars and gondolas to up over 10,000 feet, where the views are breathtaking and on-mountain restaurants with large sundecks await.
